WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON CANADA DAY?
As you celebrate our nation’s birthday with family and friends, Canadians across the country will be preparing to welcome home loved ones who served in Afghanistan as our military winds down combat operations in Afghanistan. On Canada Day, we should reflect on the great sacrifices that these brave men and women made, applauding the progress that they achieved and remembering those who did not make it home. Our heroes in uniform and their families constantly feel the strain of their sacrifice, so it is fitting that Canadians pause on a happy occasion like Canada Day to show their support for military families.

Show Your Support
Pause for a moment on Canada Day to remember the people who stand on guard for us at all hours and make Canada the greatest country in the world.
Convey your appreciation for their sacrifice in some small way – acknowledge the troops on Facebook or Twitter, wear a commemorative ribbon or simply mention their sacrifice when speaking with family and friends.
Host a fundraiser for the Canadian Hero Fund. You can put on a barbecue, a neighbourhood fireworks display, a community sports game or any other kind of event that you feel might interest your community in supporting our troops. You can turn your existing Canada Day plans into a fundraiser, or register to host an event this summer.
