Remembrance Week Donation Drive
In November 2009, the employees at Weston Premium Woods made a significant show of support for the families of Canadian soldiers. By pledging $10 for every order they took during Remembrance Week and collecting personal donations from staff and customers, the Brampton, Ontario based company was able to raise a total of $2,615 for the Canadian Hero Fund!
“We recognize the sacrifices that our Canadian soldiers are making every single day in order to preserve and protect our way of life, here at home.” said Peter Ekstein, CEO of Weston Forest Group, in a letter to the Canadian Hero Fund. “We also sympathize, feel for and pray for the families that have made the ultimate sacrifice in defending our freedom… We could not think of a better way to show our appreciation than by contributing this money towards the education of the children of our fallen soldiers.”
